Int’l community must play role in protecting civilians from Israeli aggression: PM







Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the call on international community, particularly the United Nations to play its role in protecting civilians in Rafah from brutal Israeli aggression.


In a message on his X handle today, he expressed deep concern over the disturbing developments in Rafah.


The Prime Minister deplored that international law is being repeatedly violated, despite International Court of Justice’s recent clear verdict against Israel.


He said Pakistan strongly condemns Israel’s indiscriminate bombardment that has led to heavy casualties.

Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Richard Wagner discuss judicial collaboration







Senior Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah called on the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Canada Richard Wagner, in Ottawa and discussed judicial collaboration.


They underscored the importance of continuous judicial education and training. They agreed to initiate exchange programs for judges and judicial officers, aimed at sharing knowledge and expertise in areas such as case management, development of curriculum modules, digitalization of courts, and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms.


The two sides recognized the growing role of technology in the judiciary. They explored the potential for collaboration between the Federal Judicial Academy of Pakistan and National Judicial Institute of Canada in developing and implementing advanced judicial technologies, including electronic filing systems, virtual courtrooms, and AI-driven legal research tools.

Nation observed Youm-e-Takbeer with national zeal







The nation observed Youm-e-Takbeer today with national zeal and enthusiasm.


The day dawned with special prayers in the mosques for the peace and prosperity of the country. Quran Khawani and special prayers were organized across the country.


It was public holiday today.


It was twenty-six years ago on this day in 1998 that Pakistan had conducted nuclear tests in response to Indian nuclear explosions.


Under the leadership of then Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, country defied international pressure to conduct the nuclear tests. This successfully established credible minimum deterrence had restored the balance of power in the region.

US lauds Pakistan’s initiatives to improve macro-economic indicators







Ambassador of the United States to Pakistan Donald Blome called on Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad.


Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb welcomed the Ambassador and underscored the long-term mutual relations between Pakistan and the USA.


He informed the Ambassador about successful completion of the Stand-By Arrangement and that the Government of Pakistan is engaged with the fund to build upon the reforms under the SBA.


Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb highlighted the priority reform areas of the Government including increasing the tax-to-GDP ratio through end-to-end digitization, bringing the under-taxed sectors into the tax net, and tax administrative reforms.


The Minister reiterated the Prime Minister’s commitment to privatizing State-Owned Enterprises which has sparked interest from local and foreign investors in the case of Pakistan International Airlines.


On the energy sector reforms, he mentioned steps being taken to bring private sector experts to enhance efficiency.


He also apprised th

e Ambassador of the potential investments from investors in the Agriculture, Mining, and IT sectors.


Ambassador Donald Blome appreciated the government’s efforts and initiatives to improve macroeconomic indicators.


He assured the support of the United States in helping Pakistan achieve economic stability and sustainable growth.
