The Grand Tetons, these granite cathedrals of GTNP are arguably the most photographed mountains in North America. It is accessible, besides traveling by car, by the only airport in the United States inside a National Park.
Jackson Town Square, also known as the George Washington Memorial Park is one of the main attractions of Jackson Hole. One of the unique features of the Town Square is that it has elk-antler arches at each corner of the park. The Historical Town Square is surrounded by historic buildings, typically Wild Western but with a contemporary twist.
Teton Village is located northwest of Jackson, Wyoming. It is the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, one of the most popular ski resorts in Wyoming and the United States. From here you can take the JHMR Aerial Tram which takes you up to the summit of Rendezvous Mountain, where you will have a unique view of the Tetons in all it's glory.
Jenny Lake is located at the base of the Teton Range and it is one of the most visited spots in Grand Teton National Park. Jenny Lake's Scenic Drive takes visitors on the eastern edge of the lake. You can capture one of the best views of the lake. On the other end of the lake are the popular hiking trails to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point.
Snake River, this majestic river flows through Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole. It brings a lot of visitors from all of the U.S. and from around the world to come fly fishing, go scenic floating, experience one of the best whitewater rafting or just be photographed with the Grand Tetons in the backdrop. Amazing wildlife and flora surrounds this pristine river.
The National Elk Refuge sits just outside Jackson, Wyoming, located north of town. It is a wildlife refuge created in 1912 and it provides sanctuary mainly for elk herds, providing winter habitat for around 5000 elk in average, every year. It is one of the best places to take a sleigh ride in the winter and see these elks up close.

The simple answer to this is anytime you would like. Every season has its’ own particularities and beauty. We would suggest, if you have the chance, to visit the Jackson Hole area in the winter, summer, spring and fall seasons.
Jackson Hole is a year-round destination. The most popular season amongst tourists is summer and winter.
Winters are great for typical outdoor activities, such as skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing. Let’s not forget that we have Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, regarded as one of the best ski resorts in the U.S. Jackson Hole is a great place to choose as a summer vacation destination. It is the main season for people visiting the area, Jackson Wyoming being one of the gateway towns to Grand Teton & Yellowstone National Parks.
Summer is the busiest season so as an alternative, you can visit Jackson Hole in the late spring or early fall. You will find that in the spring time wildlife is the most active, while fall season is arguably the most beautiful with the fall-foliage offering spectacular, breathtaking colors and backdrops.
The two options of getting to Jackson Hole is either by air or by car.
Jackson Hole Airport is the best option if you want to get to Jackson by air. It is just a short drive away from the town of Jackson and you have plenty of transportation options to get from the airport into town, including taxi, shuttle services or by rental. A number of airline companies have direct flights to Jackson Hole Airport. The number of flights depend of the season. Jackson Hole airport is connected with major airports from Salt Lake City, Denver, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, New York, Boston, Detroit, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle & Charlotte.
The closest major airport is Salt Lake City International Airport, approximately 280 miles from Jackson. You can also choose by landing at Idaho Falls Regional Airport and drive up to Jackson.
If you are looking for a scenic road trip, the best way to come to Jackson is by car. You can approach Jackson Hole from all directions. If you are coming from west, you need to get on U.S. 89 and drive from Alpine, Wyoming to Jackson or take the scenic Teton Pass Highway from Victor, Idaho.
Driving in to Jackson Hole from south, you will be arriving on U.S Route 191 or U.S. Route 89.
Approaching Jackson Hole from the east you will be getting into the valley on Togwotee Pass from Riverton and Casper Wyoming.
And from the north, you can either choose the scenic road through Yellowstone National Park or alternatives from Victor, Idaho or Riverton, Wyoming, avoiding traffic coming from Yellowstone to Jackson Hole in the busy period.
This is all subjective, but we recommend that visiting these places is a must.
First of all, if you are in Jackson, you need to visit the Town Square and the Elk Antler Arches. Check out the JH Historical Society & Museum for a quick lesson on the history of the region. It’s right off Town Square.
The other must-see museum is the National Museum of Wildlife Art, north of town. National Elk Refuge is home to a few thousand elks wintering just outside the town. You will love the sleigh rides among the elk herds in the winter.
If you want to see Jackson directly from above, then you have to go up Snow King. You will also have a great view of the Grand Tetons.
Talking about Grand Tetons, you will want to visit the world’s most photographed barn. Schwabacher’s Landing is arguably the best spot along the legendary Snake River for capturing the Tetons at their mightiest and most majestic. Jenny Lake is one of only two lakes in Grand Teton National Park and the Jenny Lake Visitor Center is a very popular spot. North of Jenny Lake is Leigh Lake. Less well-known, but just as beautiful and striking.
Teton Village is also fun. You can take the aerial tram up to the top of Rendezvous Mountain. You can see from here the Tetons and the Jackson Hole valley. For all ski and snowboard enthusiasts, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is the place to be.

The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar had its’ part of making Jackson and Jackson Hole known by the world because of it is a unique Western drinking and entertainment venue, being visited since its’ opening in 1937 by countless celebrities, movie stars and presidents.
