<p class="text-justify">BIST, which stands for BGIFT Institute of Science & Technology, affiliated
with the National University, was set up in 2008 with 60 students; Under the National
University, BIST offered four years of B.Sc. subjects are Apparel Manufacture & Technology
(AMT), Fashion Design & Technology (FDT), and Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) to meet
the growing need for advanced education. BIST is also affiliated with the Bangladesh Technical
Education Board (BTEB). Many students are studying for a diploma in engineering courses in
different subjects at this institute.With a handful of funds, and a dedicated and dynamic
faculty, BGIFT Institute of Science & Technology was launched; 14 Years later, with over 5000
highly qualified students, computer labs, two machine stores, and labs, a digital lab, physics
and chemistry labs, a vast textile lab, well-trained faculty, energetic support staff, and a

Our Honorable Prime Minister has announced to make the country a 'Digital Country' by the end of 2021. The slogan of "Digital Bangladesh" of the Government of Bangladesh with Vision 2021 is a big drive for the use of digital technology in the country.
BGIFT Institute of Science and Technology is one of those institutes that is working with great efforts to create manpower that can contribute to the development of the country.</p>

To develop a country, people need the right kind of education.
Education should not be only about books, but also include real-life
skills. Technical and professional education helps people get jobs
and become skilled.
BGIFT Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) is a University
level college that provides this kind of education. It offers honors
degrees in subjects like AMT, FDT, BBA, CSE, textile & MBA in AM
under the National University. It also offers diploma courses in
seven subjects under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
There are also many short courses for different skill based training
& entrepreneurship training and also some government project.

Many students who complete these courses get jobs in factories.
Some even start their own businesses. Because of its good work, the
Bangladesh government has chosen BIST to run many short training
courses.
BIST has modern labs where students learn through hands-on
practice. The teachers are experienced and teach with care. The
library has many useful and rare books. A new, permanent campus
is now under construction.
The world is moving fast with the help of science and technology.
Bangladesh is also making progress. Education helps people and the
country move forward. Practical education makes people skilled and
valuable to the country.
Bangladesh government is working to improve this kind of
education. BIST is also working hard to support this goal. As a result,
all BIST students are now working in good jobs both in Bangladesh
and abroad.
BIST’s goal is to build skilled people & increase employability and
help create a smart and developed Bangladesh.

You can still apply stating that you are undecided about your major. Also, if you have already decided what you want to study, you can still study another subject and complete a "double major", i.e. a degree in two subjects within the normal four year of study.</p>
