Miami Heat players have never won a Rookie of the Year award before but may change this season.

The undrafted rookie Kendrick Nan has won prizes the way he has played through the 2019-20 campaign.

It’s definitely what I want to do, he said, with the potential to win a rookie of the year.
Nan can certainly make a claim that he deserves it.

He currently stars in all 42 games of the season’s heat, averaging 16.0 points and 3.5 assists per game. That being said, his stats track Ja Morant’s stats, widely regarded as the forefront of the award.

Nan will probably know how his figures overlap with Moran’s figures. He allowed them to read the statistics of other competing newcomers from time to time. But he also stated that it was not his main focus.

I don’t actively look at (other newcomer stats), but sometimes I scroll through social media, look at numbers and the like, said Nan. I have read them, but that is not the main focus for me.

Nan showed that winning the game was more valuable than padding his stats. In an exclusive interview with Heatnation before the start of the season, a 24-year-old guard said he only wanted to help the team.

I want to contribute as much as I can, take part in next year’s rotation, contribute to victory and get into the playoffs this season, he said when asked about his goals and expectations for the season.

If Nan continues to play as before this season, he will not only get the chance to win a Rookie of the Year but also play a significant role in the potential playoff run of the heat a few months later.
