Why is it so hard to find a funeral announcement in New

During the 2020 Dystopia
many small NSW newspapers closed as their advertising income
plummeted.

At the same
time the banning of large funeral gatherings led Funeral
Directors to offer online streaming of funeral services, with
online funeral announcements rather than newspaper
announcements at a cost saving to the Funeral Director.
The result today – especially in NSW – is the confusing
scattering of funeral notifications across dozens of Funeral
Directors’ websites.
This is unlikely to change unless people insist that they want
the Funeral Announcement placed in a major newspaper.
Meanwhile, the major Sydney cemeteries now list upcoming
funerals on their websites.
